GFCI’s are critical safety devices that come in breaker and receptacle formats. It turns power off if it goes somewhere it isn’t supposed to. It’s important that your home has them in any location with bare concrete floors, a water source within 6′, outside, and other special circumstances.
These spaces require Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI). Their tripping can be a common nuisance, and the way some homes are wired, it can be tricky to discover where the protection is installed. For example, a GFCI receptacle installed in one bathroom may protect others, or an outlet outside.
Often times, you can reset the device and restore power yourself! Saving you money. Check around your home for locations you don’t normally use for a tripped GFCI receptacle. Be sure to check and make sure it’s not just tripped!

Being an electrician is a dangerous job. Generally speaking, the profession is almost 2 1/2 times more dangerous than the national average across all professions. Training, insurance, and licensing all go toward keeping us and you safe.
